Name Changes Including Policy Innovation
'Responding to Changes in the Educational Environment'
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education will implement an organizational restructuring effective September 1, changing to a structure of 3 bureaus, 3 offices, 13 divisions, and 1 team, including the establishment of a Planning and Budget Officer to strengthen educational policy functions and ensure rational organizational management.
This organizational restructuring was promoted to swiftly respond to the rapidly changing educational environment and to secure expertise through task adjustments tailored to changes in the educational administrative environment.
In the September restructuring, the current main office organization, composed of 3 bureaus, 2 offices, 14 divisions, and 1 team, will be reorganized into a structure of 3 bureaus, 3 offices, 13 divisions, and 1 team, and some task assignments of affiliated institutions will be adjusted according to information work and organizational restructuring plans.
First, the Creative Talent Division will be moved to the Education Bureau, and the Education Safety Division will be moved to the Policy Bureau. To strengthen planning functions and enhance professionalism and responsibility in tasks, a ‘Planning and Budget Officer’ directly under the Deputy Superintendent of Education has been newly established. The Planning and Budget Officer will handle planning tasks, budgeting, and educational cooperation.
Budget-related tasks of the Budget Information Division will be transferred to the Planning and Budget Officer; digital-based tasks among information operation tasks will be transferred to the Creative Talent Division; and the remaining information operation tasks and information protection tasks will be transferred to the Policy Innovation Division, after which the Budget Information Division will be abolished.
The Policy Innovation Division will transfer planning and educational cooperation-related tasks to the Planning and Budget Officer and will rename itself the Future Education Information Division by combining the tasks received from the Budget Information Division.
The Creative Talent Division will establish the Digital Education Team and the Digital Infrastructure Team to focus on strengthening digital information education such as AI and software, and lifelong education and library tasks will be transferred to the Education Welfare Division.
The Education Welfare Division will rename itself the Happy Education Support Division by combining its existing tasks with the transferred lifelong education and library tasks.
The Student Life Division will abolish the existing Alternative Education Team and establish the Mind Growth Support Team to strengthen education on psychology, emotions, and respect for life.
A secretary will be assigned to the Audit Office and the Planning and Budget Officer to oversee audit and budget tasks, thereby strengthening management of these duties.
Additionally, due to the restructuring of information work, the information tasks of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Research Institute will be transferred to the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Information Center to unify information work. Through this restructuring, overlapping personnel will be assigned and utilized at education support offices to reduce the educational information-related workload at school sites.
