Ayong FBC's flagship Chilean wine brand, 'Casillero Del Diablo,' announced on the 7th that it has sold over 1 million bottles for five consecutive years.
Since surpassing 1 million bottles in 2019, Diablo wine sold 1.86 million bottles in 2020, 2.48 million bottles in 2021, 2.2 million bottles in 2022, and 1.81 million bottles last year. The cumulative sales of Diablo over the past decade have exceeded 13 million bottles.
Diablo wine is the flagship brand of the global wine group 'Concha Y Toro' and is exported to over 130 countries including the United States and Europe. In Korea, it is widely recognized and sold not only in convenience stores, large supermarkets, department stores, and wine shops but also in casual dining establishments. Casillero Del Diablo, which means 'Devil’s Cellar' in Spanish, is famous for the legend that its founder, Sir Don Melchor, spread rumors that the devil appeared in the wine cellar to protect the wine from thieves who kept stealing from the underground wine storage.
Over the past decade, Diablo wine has continued various marketing activities tailored to the Korean market. In 2014, it became the first single wine product to air a TV commercial domestically, and it annually releases editions reflecting Korean culture such as the 'Dokkaebi Edition' and 'Cheongryong Edition.' Recently, based on the Mixology trend, it launched 'Diablo Devil’s Carnaval,' which sold over 50,000 bottles within a month of its release, gaining popularity.
