A Man in His 50s Arrested for Wielding a Weapon at a Street Vendor in Yeonggwang, Jeonnam
On the 6th, the Yeonggwang Police Station in Jeonnam announced that they have arrested and are investigating A (59) on charges of attempted murder for wielding a weapon against a street vendor at a traditional market.
A is accused of stabbing B (64), a street vendor he knew, multiple times with a weapon he had beforehand at the market near Yeonggwang Terminal in Yeonggwang-gun around 9 a.m. that day.
A was caught at the scene by the police following reports from witnesses. B, who was seriously injured, received emergency treatment at a nearby hospital and was then transferred to a university hospital in Gwangju for further care.
The police stated, "A held a grudge against B and, based on evidence suggesting a planned crime, applied charges of attempted murder."
