Cho Kuk: "Investigation into Kim Geon-hee's luxury bag is for show... Investigate 'stock price manipulation'"
"Dior Bag Investigation to Result in Non-Prosecution After Written Inquiry"
Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, claimed that Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok, who ordered a swift investigation into First Lady Kim Geon-hee's alleged receipt of a luxury handbag, is "pretending to conduct a strong investigation into the Dior bag to make the public forget the prosecution's abandonment of the Deutsche Motors investigation."

On the 6th, Jo said on Facebook, "After Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok ordered the investigation into 'Kim Geon-hee's Dior bag,' articles have emerged saying the prosecution can now conduct a proper investigation," but added, "Based on the prosecution's behavior so far, I expect otherwise," predicting the prosecution's investigation scenario. "The prosecution will make a show of considering public opinion ahead of the general election and to block various special investigation laws by summoning Kim Geon-hee. If she refuses to appear, they will quietly back down and conclude with a written investigation," he claimed.
He also said, "What we should pay more attention to is whether 'the prosecution will investigate the Deutsche Motors case after summoning Kim,'" adding, "All accomplices have been convicted, and the prosecution's report already stated that Kim and her biological mother gained 2.3 billion won in profits."
Jo questioned, "What exactly are the prosecutors on the Deutsche Motors investigation team doing? Are they backing down thinking about promotions in the next personnel reshuffle? I want to mention names one by one," and criticized, "What about the prosecutors who, during the Moon Jae-in administration, competed to post praises on the prosecution bulletin board for Yoon Seok-youl's 'investigation of the living power'?"
Recently, Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok formed a dedicated team to investigate First Lady Kim Geon-hee's "luxury handbag receipt allegations," ordering them to "investigate swiftly and thoroughly based on evidence and legal principles to clearly ascertain the facts." Inside and outside the prosecution, there is speculation that since the Prosecutor General directly ordered the fact-finding, the investigation, which had seen no visible progress since the case was reported in December last year, may now gain momentum.
At that time, Seoul Voice revealed a video showing that after President Yoon's inauguration, on September 13 last year, First Lady Kim received a luxury handbag worth about 3 million won as a gift from Pastor Choi Jae-young, a Korean-American. The video was reportedly filmed by Pastor Choi using a 'wristwatch hidden camera,' and the gift was prepared by Seoul Voice. Baek Eun-jong, representative of Seoul Voice, later filed a complaint with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office accusing President Yoon Seok-youl and his wife of violating the Anti-Graft Act and bribery charges.
