Law Firm Lin·LKB & Partners Halt 'Merger Plans'... Shift to 'Business Partnership'
Law firm Lin (representative lawyer Im Jin-seok) and law firm LKB & Partners (representative lawyer Lee Kwang-beom), which have been pursuing a merger since last year, are reported to have halted merger mediation negotiations. This decision was made due to the prolonged negotiations. The two law firms plan to continue their collaboration through a business partnership instead of a merger.
According to the legal community on the 3rd, Lin and LKB agreed on the 22nd of last month to stop mediation for the merger and collaborate through a business partnership. This comes about a year after signing a business agreement to promote integration in February last year.
The two law firms reportedly continued mediation negotiations aiming for integration around March this year. However, as the mediation negotiations dragged on, they decided to halt merger discussions.
Lin and LKB plan to collaborate in litigation and advisory services based on the trust they have built so far.
