'Humanity's First Far Side of the Moon Sample Collection' Launch of China's Chang'e 6 Probe (Update)
On the 3rd, Xinhua News Agency reported that China has launched the Chang'e 6 probe, which will be the first in human history to collect samples from the far side of the Moon.
According to the report, China's space authorities launched the Long March 5 Y8 rocket carrying the Chang'e 6 probe from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province. The goal of Chang'e 6 is to reach the Earth-Moon transfer orbit and then collect samples from the far side of the Moon for the first time in human history.
Prior to this launch, China's space authorities conducted a final rehearsal the day before involving the Wenchang Space Launch Site, Beijing Flight Control Center, Xi'an Satellite Monitoring Center, and the Yuanwang survey ship of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

Chang'e 6 is scheduled to land in the "South Pole-Aitken Basin" on the far side of the Moon, collect a total of 2 kg of samples including soil and rocks, and then return to Earth. If successful, it will be the first case in human history.
