And, Selection of the 2024 K-City Network Project Contractor
GreeGo announced on the 2nd that it has been selected as the company to carry out the 2024 K-City Network overseas demonstration project. The company plans to start with Cambodia, the country where the project will be conducted, and expand its domestic hub-type shared mobility service business throughout the Southeast Asia region in the future.
The K-City Network project, led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is a program that supports the export of smart city-related companies and aims to build a global network by supporting the development of smart cities in overseas cities. On the 17th of last month, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport selected six cities as overseas demonstration target cities: Hue City in Vietnam, Jakarta City in Indonesia, Puerto Princesa City in the Philippines, Siem Reap Province in Cambodia, Verona City in Italy, and New Jersey State in the United States.
GreeGo was chosen as the executing company for Siem Reap Province, Cambodia. It plans to demonstrate a smart mobility sharing service using electric motorcycles aimed at addressing the climate crisis and revitalizing tourism. The company stated that based on its know-how from successfully carrying out the ‘Jeju Smart City Challenge Project’ since 2021 using the eco-friendly mobility sharing service platform ‘GreeGo’, it plans to optimize the eco-friendly smart shared mobility platform to fit the local conditions in Cambodia.
GreeGo was established as a special purpose company (SPC) to continuously operate the Jeju Smart City Challenge Project. Currently, it provides services such as eco-friendly personal mobility (PM) rental, real-time public transportation information, and personal mobility-public transportation transfer services, leading the smart transformation of transportation means in the Jeju area. In December of last year, it obtained smart city service certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, externally verifying its effectiveness.
