“Sanho Park Turns Red” … Changwon Special City Sanho-dong, Planting of Lycoris Radiata
On the 1st, the Sanho-dong Resident Autonomy Committee and the residents of Masanhappo-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, planted 20,000 Lycoris radiata bulbs in Sanho Park.
About 80 members from various local organizations, including the Resident Autonomy Committee, Tongwoo Association, Nature Conservation Council, Pureumi Clean Team, Committee for Right Living, Saemaul Association, Saemaul Women's Association, and Youth Guidance Committee, joined forces for this activity.
The Lycoris radiata hill, known as the "flower of unrequited love and poignant love," has been cultivated since 2008 as part of the Sanho-dong Resident Autonomy Committee's village beautification project. The residents of Sanho-dong have lovingly tended to it as if it were their own home garden, and this year, they worked together with one heart and mind, sweating for the 10th Sanho Park Lycoris radiata Festival.
The members of the local organizations said, "We are delighted to imagine Sanho Park becoming more beautiful through our efforts. We hope that every drop of sweat shed today will bloom into beautiful Lycoris radiata flowers in the fall," adding, "We will continue to take greater interest in managing and protecting it."
