Uljin-gun Fresh Agricultural, Forestry, and Fishery Ingredients, Inheriting Traditional Fermented Foods
On April 29, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, opened the farmhouse restaurant ‘Jinmiga’ in Nagok-ri, Buk-myeon, with support from the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services and the Agricultural Technology Center.
The farmhouse restaurant development project is a food culture space creation initiative aimed at discovering local dishes and commercializing and preserving them for future generations.
‘Jinmiga,’ Uljin-gun’s first farmhouse restaurant, is expected to contribute to the preservation of food culture and the economic development of the local community by using fresh agricultural, forestry, and fishery products from Uljin and differentiated fermented foods.
Representatives Kim Seong-ui and Jo Yujin of Jinmiga have experience such as winning the grand prize at a healing food competition. They plan to develop diverse menus using fresh local agricultural specialties and fermented sauces aged for three years to provide healthy meals.
