Seven Eleven Donates 72 Million Won Raised from Convenience Store Coin Collections
Cumulative Donations Total 450 Million Won
Seven Eleven announced on the 1st that it has donated approximately 72 million KRW collected from eco-friendly coin donations at stores nationwide over the past year to the Environment Foundation.
Seven Eleven's eco-friendly coin donation campaign began in 2018 and has continued for six years. Each year, coin donation boxes are placed in stores for voluntary contributions, and the total amount donated to the Environment Foundation has reached approximately 450 million KRW.

View original imageThe donation ceremony took place on the afternoon of the 30th of last month at the Seven Eleven Jongno Jaedong store (located in Jongno-gu, Seoul), attended by key figures including Lee Gyu-hwan, Head of Management Strategy Division at Seven Eleven, Park Hae-yong, store owner of Seven Eleven Sinje Branch, and Choi Yeol, Chairman of the Environment Foundation.
The entire amount raised this time will be used through the Environment Foundation for investment activities aimed at operating, managing, and expanding the ‘AI Circular Resource Collection Robots.’ In 2020, Seven Eleven became the first in the industry to install six ‘AI Circular Resource Collection Robots’ to foster social consensus on resource circulation and increase the collection rate of separated recyclables. Currently, a total of 28 AI Circular Resource Collection Robots are in operation, with about 40,000 users last year alone and 2.7 million collected PET bottles and cans.
