Yeongam-gun, COVID-19 Crisis Alert Downgraded from Warning to Attention
Recommendation to Shift to Indoor Mask Wearing at Medical Institutions and Infection-Vulnerable Facilities
Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) will lower the COVID-19 crisis level from the current 'Alert' to the lowest level, 'Attention,' starting from the 1st of next month, in accordance with government policy, and will adjust quarantine measures, medical support, and monitoring and response systems.
According to the county on the 29th, quarantine measures will change the indoor mask-wearing mandate in hospital-level medical institutions and residential infection-vulnerable facilities to a recommendation, and preemptive testing for residents of nursing hospitals and facilities will also become a 'recommendation.' Isolation for confirmed cases will shift from a 5-day recommendation to a 24-hour recommendation after symptom improvement.
Among medical support, diagnostic test fees will be supported only for symptomatic individuals in high-risk groups, with co-payments required. Hospitalization treatment costs will be covered by health insurance, but national funding previously provided for some severe patients will end.
Treatment drugs will change from free supply to a system where individuals pay a co-payment of 50,000 KRW per person, while medical aid recipients and lower-income groups will continue to receive free support as before.
The Yeongam-gun Public Health Center will inform related organizations of the major changes according to the Attention level and will also promote the information on the Yeongam-gun website and SNS.
