Econine Donates 1% of Sales for Environmental Protection... Practicing for 3 Years
EcoNine, a specialized ESG consulting firm, announced that it will donate 1% of its annual sales in 2023 to environmental protection. Since 2022, EcoNine has been a member of '1% for the planet' and has been continuously making donations for three years.
1% for the planet is a global initiative and environmental network where companies or individuals donate 1% of their sales to environmental protection. Founded by the founder of the global company Patagonia, it is a non-profit organization focusing on six environmental issues: climate, food, land, pollution, water, and wildlife, conducting various campaigns and volunteer activities.
More than 5,500 companies from 60 countries participate, with about 50 companies participating domestically. Their cumulative donations amount to 84 billion KRW.
EcoNine, a member company of 1% for the planet, selects its donation recipients annually through employee voting, considering alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) it pursues. This year, four organizations were selected: Friends of Noeul Park, ItaSeoul, IUCN Korea Committee, and Women’s Environmental Network.
