Opposition Party Launches 'Special Prosecutor Law for Chae Sang-byeong'... "Aiming for Plenary Session Approval on May 2"
"Immediate Acceptance of the Special Prosecutor Law for Chae Sang-byeong Needed"
The Democratic Party of Korea has set a plan to hold a plenary session on the 2nd of next month to pass the 'Special Prosecutor Act on the Alleged External Pressure in the Death Case of Chae Sang-byeong (Chae Sang-byeong Special Prosecutor Act)'. It is expected to push forward major special prosecutor acts, riding on the momentum of their overwhelming victory in the general election.
On the 14th, spokesperson Park Seong-jun met with reporters at the National Assembly and said, "We are moving toward handling the Chae Sang-byeong special prosecutor act at the plenary session on May 2nd," adding, "Since the public's desire for fact-finding was also reflected in the general election, it will be difficult for ruling party lawmakers to betray the public will."
Earlier, during a briefing at the National Assembly communication office, spokesperson Park stated, "Through the 22nd general election, the people declared to stop President Yoon Seok-yeol's unilateral recklessness," and claimed, "This was a strong warning to the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, which has repeatedly exercised veto power over various livelihood bills, starting with the special prosecutor act to investigate First Lady Kim Geon-hee's corruption."
He continued, "If the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the People Power Party are reflecting on the public will expressed in the general election, they should immediately accept the Chae Sang-byeong special prosecutor act," emphasizing, "The Chae Sang-byeong special prosecutor act will be a barometer of whether the Yoon Seok-yeol administration will accept the public sentiment revealed through the general election."
The Chae Sang-byeong special prosecutor act was designated as a fast-track agenda through cooperation among opposition parties and was automatically submitted to the plenary session as of the 3rd of this month.
The Party for Justice and Innovation also announced its support for the passage of the 'Chae Sang-byeong Special Prosecutor Act.'

If he abuses the veto power again, the people will reject the president."
