Support for Delivery Prices to 16 Traditional Markets in Seoul... Government "Plans Gradual Expansion"
The government is expanding the agricultural product supply price support project targeting traditional markets to alleviate the food price burden for citizens using traditional markets.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 9th that from the 9th to the 12th, it will expand the supply price support project for four items?apples, green onions, cucumbers, and zucchini?at 16 markets in Seoul. Previously, from March 30 to April 2, the ministry conducted a pilot supply price support project for three items?apples, napa cabbage, and green onions?at 11 traditional markets in Seoul.
The support scale (unit price) for each item in this supply price support project is 2.5 tons of apples (2,000 KRW per kg), 10 tons of green onions (1,000 KRW), 7.5 tons of cucumbers (1,364 KRW), and 2.5 tons of zucchini (625 KRW), with a total government support amount of 26.87 million KRW. Consumers can purchase these items at prices discounted by 14.0% to 49.5% compared to the average prices in traditional markets.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is promoting a refund event for Onnuri gift certificates until the 12th and plans to issue zero-pay gift certificates worth a total of 30 billion KRW by the end of this month, further expanding support for traditional markets.
