Goheung-gun Export Development Team Signs $2 Million Export Agreement with France
K-Food Partners with 'Gourmets' to Export Yuzu Grain Syrup and More
Gohung-gun, Jeonnam Province (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that the ‘Gohung Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team,’ led by Governor Gong Young-min, signed a $2 million export agreement for processed agricultural and marine products from Gohung with RIZ ET CO SAS (CEO Ji Ju-yeon) in Paris, France on the 6th.
RIZ ET CO SAS is a company that supplies K-food through more than 20 local premium food distribution channels, including operating the ‘Kore’ (French-style Korean notation) food corner within the Louis Vuitton direct-operated Bon Marche department store in Paris, by creating the K-food brand ‘Mishikga’ to introduce and sell traditional Korean fermented foods in France.
Additionally, the Mishikga store in Paris was selected for a food culture revitalization project hosted by the Paris city government, playing a cultural vanguard role by operating Korean cooking classes for locals and selling traditional fermented foods, thereby promoting the excellence of K-food and Korean fermented food trends to the French.
CEO Ji Ju-yeon of RIZ ET CO SAS said, “Gohung’s yuzu and yuzu grain syrup, which are globally recognized, are expected to make a significant impact on the French premium food ingredient market. We have launched and are selling eight Gohung products under the ‘Mishikga’ brand, and we will continue to discover excellent ingredients from Gohung-gun and introduce them to the European premium food market.”
Governor Gong Young-min stated, “Today’s agreement will be a great achievement that elevates the prestige of Gohung agricultural and marine products to the next level. It has created a very important opportunity to enter the French premium food ingredient market with high value-added products.”
He added, “We will continue to enhance the brand value of ‘Gohung-gun’ and strive to exchange not only Gohung agricultural and marine products but also Gohung-gun’s culture with France and Europe in a differentiated way.”
This achievement can be seen as a foothold for expanding exports of Gohung agricultural and marine food products, centered on Gohung yuzu, yuzu grain syrup, and gim, to the premium food ingredient markets in Paris and Europe.
A county official said, “We plan to collaborate further with RIZ ET CO SAS to launch Gohung products at premium food specialty stores in Brussels, Belgium, where international organizations are gathered.”
