Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, was selected as an excellent local government for discovering and supporting welfare crisis households during the winter of 2023 and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluates local governments nationwide every year based on their independent efforts to identify crisis households, public-private cooperation, and exemplary cases, selecting 23 outstanding local governments to award. Hamyang-gun was the only one selected from Gyeongsangnam-do.

Through the Gyeongsangnam-do Community Chest of Korea's 'Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign,' they raised 158 million KRW and received support worth approximately 180 million KRW from various organizations and institutions to protect welfare blind spots and vulnerable groups, focusing on discovering crisis households and spreading sharing during the winter.
