Goheung-gun Export Development Team Launches Campaign to Conquer European Market

Gongyeongmin, the governor of Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that the "Goheung-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Europe Export Pioneering Team," led by Governor Gongyeongmin, held a send-off ceremony and departed for a business trip to Europe on March 31.

The "Goheung-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Europe Export Pioneering Team" plans to promote the excellence of Goheung's agricultural and marine products and pursue export agreements through promotional events in major European cities such as Paris, France, targeting the high-end European food ingredient market.

In particular, the team will attend the World Congress of the French Master Chefs Association held in Corsica, France, starting with a promotional presentation of Goheung yuja (citron). They will captivate the palates of French master chefs through tastings of Goheung yuja, Goheung gim (seaweed), Goheung grain syrup, and demonstrations of Goheung yuja beverages.

Governor Gongyeongmin stated, "The Goheung Agricultural and Marine Products Export Pioneering Team will do its utmost to widely promote the excellence of Goheung's agricultural and marine products in Europe and ensure this leads to actual exports. We will work tirelessly to open domestic and international markets for Goheung agricultural products so that farmers and fishermen can focus solely on production."

A county official said, "With over 200 K-food restaurants thriving in Paris alone, interest in Korean food ingredients has recently increased across Europe, steadily boosting domestic agricultural and food exports. Through this European promotional event, we will strive to make Goheung's agricultural and marine products known throughout Europe and ensure their supply to the European food ingredient market."
