Kim Hyun-soo, New President of Gwangju-Jeonnam Venture Business Association, "Committed to Expanding Market Opportunities for Companies"
Strengthening Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration, Emphasizing Revitalization of Regional Venture Ecosystem
Kim Myung-sul, Former President Who Led the Association for 7 Years, Appointed as 'Honorary President'
"We will devote all our efforts to laying the foundation for expanding sales channels and global advancement of local small and medium-sized venture enterprises. With an attitude of serving the local community, we will pursue change and innovation within the association."
Kim Hyun-soo, CEO of Tina, was appointed as the 7th president at the 15th General Assembly of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Venture Business Association held at the Gwangju Ramada Hotel on the 28th. Kim Myung-sul, the outgoing president who led the association for the past seven years, was honored as honorary president following an appreciation plaque from Seong Sang-yeop, president of the Venture Business Association.
According to the Gwangju-Jeonnam Venture Business Association on the 31st, the event was held with the attendance of Lee Sang-gap, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy of Gwangju City; Jo Jong-rae, head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Small and Medium Venture Business Administration; Lee Jeong-min, Secretary General of the Venture Business Association; Kwon Won-hyun, chairman of the National Council of the Venture Business Association; and about 100 member companies.
The case presentation of Sharethics, an AI and robotics convergence company, also drew attention. The company is developing on-device AI technologies including object recognition AI and voice recognition AI. Shareplat (CEO Lee Ji-hoon) became the first in Gwangju to deploy autonomous driving robots in sections 1 and 2 of the Geumnam Underground Shopping Center, collecting various data.
The AI autonomous unmanned robots are planned to build a comfortable and safe smart underground shopping center by ▲collecting temperature, humidity, and air quality data within the Geumnam Underground Shopping Center ▲detecting fires in the underground shopping center ▲measuring appropriate illumination to improve energy efficiency ▲guiding paths inside the underground shopping center ▲measuring floating population density.
Before his inauguration speech, President Kim Hyun-soo urged active support and cooperation from small business support organizations.
This is because local small and medium venture enterprises, lacking capital and marketing capabilities, desperately need administrative and financial support from local governments and related organizations to establish differentiated startup competitiveness.
Honorary President Kim Myung-sul said, "I have worked hard to keep the promise to revitalize the fragile venture business ecosystem and create a favorable environment for corporate activities," adding, "I expect member companies to continue their efforts to grow into global companies with the spirit of challenge and innovation."
New President Kim Hyun-soo emphasized, "We will not only expand sales channels for local companies but also promote central market entry by linking with large corporations, and smoothly lead companies to secure funds and attract investments in the AI era. We will do our best to raise the voice of the local association by strengthening industry-academia-research-government cooperation."
Lee Sang-gap, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy of Gwangju City, said, "During the 20 days since my appointment, the companies I met on site felt much more difficulties," and added, "We will spare no effort to support overcoming these challenges and focus on the success of startups and venture companies."
