Gyeonggi Office of Education to Announce Basic Plan for Next Year's High School Early and Late Admission on the 29th
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced the basic plan for next year's high school entrance examination schedule in Gyeonggi-do on the 29th.
According to the basic plan, next year's high school entrance examination will select students mainly based on middle school academic records and contents recorded in the school life record, and will be conducted in two phases: early and late.
Early phase schools include science high schools, Meister high schools, arts high schools, physical education high schools, specialized high schools, and specialized departments of general high schools. The examination period is from August 26 to December 2.
Late phase schools include general high schools, autonomous public high schools, foreign language high schools, international high schools, and autonomous private high schools. The examination period is from December 6 this year to February 14 next year.
The examination schedule will be slightly advanced compared to last year due to the Lunar New Year holidays next year, affecting the announcement and registration period for late phase assignment schools in the equalization area.
The basic plan for next year's Gyeonggi-do high school entrance examination can be found on the Office of Education's high school admission and transfer portal website (http://satp.goe.go.kr).
Kim Seong-jin, head of the Career and Vocational Education Division at the Office of Education, stated, "The Office of Education will do its best to ensure that high school entrance examinations are conducted fairly and appropriately while guaranteeing students' right to choose their high schools."
Meanwhile, with the abolition of the free semester system and the full implementation of the free semester system starting this year, from the 2027 academic year, the second semester grades of the first year of middle school will be reflected in the high school entrance examination.
