Gwangju Seo-gu, Awarded 'Best' in Public Sanitation Management Project Evaluation
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City ranked first among the five autonomous districts in the public hygiene management project evaluation conducted by Gwangju City.
This evaluation was conducted across 23 items in 11 indicators within three areas: ▲activation of public hygiene management projects ▲improvement of public hygiene service levels ▲special public hygiene policy projects, aiming to enhance the efficiency of public hygiene business promotion and improve the level of public hygiene services. Seo-gu was selected as the top institution, one level higher than the excellent institution last year.
Last year, Seo-gu submitted opinions for improving public hygiene-related systems and made efforts to strengthen hygiene management of public hygiene businesses through guidance and inspection of public hygiene businesses, water quality inspection of bathhouse tubs and drinking water, and management of high-quality and mid-to-low priced lodging facilities.
In particular, Seo-gu received high scores by establishing and implementing special policies such as ▲management of public hygiene service level evaluations ▲promotion of public hygiene projects ▲designation of senior citizen discount beauty salons ▲volunteer beauty services under the "Sound of Love Scissors" program ▲designation of women and family safe lodging service facilities.
Lee Sang-yong, Director of the Health and Hygiene Division, stated on the 29th, “We will do our best by continuously conducting guidance and inspections and carrying out various policy promotion activities to create a public hygiene management environment that residents can safely use.”
