Sangmyung University Contributes to the Spread of Korean Culture through International Language and Cultural Exchange
64 Students from 5 Overseas Universities Participate
The Korean Language and Culture major at Sangmyung University has been contributing to the spread of Korean culture by continuing international language and cultural exchanges with students majoring in Korean language and Korean studies at overseas universities since 2022.
The universities participating in this international language and cultural exchange include the National University of Languages and International Studies in Pakistan, Istanbul University in T?rkiye, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, University of Bucharest in Romania, and Dai Nam University in Vietnam, with a total of 64 students participating.
Notably, this year, overseas universities in Azerbaijan, Romania, and Vietnam have joined additionally, and the number of participating students has increased by 50 compared to the previous semester.
This international language and cultural exchange will conclude with a performance report meeting by June, where students from overseas universities and students from Sangmyung University's Korean Language and Culture major and the Global Regional Studies department will form teams to exchange Korean culture along with overseas cultures in Korean.

Professor Lee Hee-young of the Korean Language and Culture major said, “I hope this opportunity for overseas university students majoring in Korean language and Korean studies to communicate with Sangmyung University students primarily in Korean will help them understand each other's cultures and build friendships.”
