Park Kyung-gwi, Mayor of Asan City, received a plaque of appreciation from Willard Burleson, Commander of the U.S. Army 8th Army.
The plaque was awarded in recognition of Asan City's efforts to strengthen the Korea-U.S. alliance by actively inviting the U.S. Forces Korea to the 'Seongung Yi Sun-sin Festival.' It was delivered through General Kim Tae-up, the Political-Military Advisor of the U.S. Army 8th Army Command.

Mayor Park Kyung-gwi stated, “The alliance between the two countries is meaningful only when demonstrated through actions,” and added, “We hope for the active interest of the U.S. Forces Korea and their families in the upcoming '63rd Seongung Yi Sun-sin Festival' and encourage their active participation in the 'Rowing' and 'Marathon' events.”
