LS Mtron Signs Industry-Academic Cooperation Agreement with Jeonbuk National University
Joint Research and Development of New Businesses Including Smart Agriculture
LS Mtron announced on the 28th that it has signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Jeonbuk National University to promote smart agriculture and the development of both institutions.
The signing ceremony took place the previous day at Jeonbuk National University. Shin Jae-ho, President of LS Mtron, and Yang Oh-bong, President of Jeonbuk National University, attended the event.
After the agreement, the two institutions agreed to share joint industry-academia research and development (R&D) and research personnel. They will jointly promote new business R&D in smart agriculture and future mobility devices, as well as talent development and recruitment.

LS Mtron was the first in the domestic industry to commercialize autonomous operation tractors. Through this agreement, they plan to further strengthen their technological capabilities by conducting joint R&D with Jeonbuk National University in the fields of smart agriculture and future mobility devices.
President Shin said, "Based on the capabilities of both institutions, we will establish an organic cooperative relationship for the development of smart agriculture," adding, "The agreement will serve as a stepping stone for nurturing specialized talent."
Meanwhile, the LS Group continues its investments in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.

Last year, group companies including LS L&F Battery Solution signed investment agreements to build precursor and nickel sulfate manufacturing facilities worth 1.8 trillion KRW in the Saemangeum National Industrial Complex. A total of two investments were decided. In January, LS Mtron decided to establish a track production plant in the Wanju Technovalley 2 Industrial Complex.
