Gwangju Shinsegae "Enjoy the 'Delicious Shinsegae' Excitingly"
Various Restaurants Available Only in the Seoul Metropolitan Area
Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) is transforming into a ‘Delicious Shinsegae’ by continuously introducing popular restaurants that were previously only available in other regions.
According to Gwangju Shinsegae on the 26th, they have recently expanded customer choices by consecutively opening branches of Ganghoyeonpa, Seoul Tteokgalbi & Gaehangro Tongdak, and Biwabyeol Dakgalbi on the basement first floor of the main building.
‘Ganghoyeonpa’ is a one-person shabu-shabu brand famous for long waiting lines in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seongsu-dong. Launched by the 1.3 million YouTuber ‘Bapgubnam,’ Ganghoyeonpa offers light beef and fresh vegetables, quickly gaining popularity and attracting many customers. Until the 31st, customers who purchase shabu-shabu at Ganghoyeonpa will receive a complimentary flower ssambap barley doenjang.
Earlier, last month, Seoul Dakgalbi and Gaehangro Tongdak were introduced on the basement first floor of the main building.
Seoul Tteokgalbi, which started in Mangwon Market in Seoul, sells four types of tteokgalbi made with 100% Korean pork: basic, Cheongyang (spicy), garlic, and shrimp tteokgalbi. It is characterized by its round, thick shape and rich meat juices.
Gaehangro Tongdak, famous in the alleys of Gaehangro in Incheon, is an electric-roasted nurungji (scorched rice) whole chicken. Using a traditional meat tenderizing method, the meat is tender, and the inside of the chicken is filled with butter nurungji, creating a sweet and savory flavor. Additionally, eating it with green onion kimchi enhances the taste, leading to high customer satisfaction.
Also, ‘Biwabyeol Dakgalbi,’ a brand boasting the tradition of Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, has been operating since 1997. It has been recognized for its taste through numerous appearances on various TV programs.
With Gwangju Shinsegae’s opening, customers can enjoy the original Chuncheon dakgalbi, which was only available in Gangwon-do, along with makguksu (buckwheat noodles), stir-fried noodles, and fried rice.
In this way, Gwangju Shinsegae has been highly praised for bringing together famous restaurants with long waiting lines from Seoul, Incheon, and Chuncheon, allowing customers to enjoy a variety of foods that were previously only available in the metropolitan area all in one place.
Kim Young-min, head of the Food & Living Team at Gwangju Shinsegae, said, “We are striving to provide an experience where customers can enjoy famous restaurants from other regions without having to travel far from the department store,” adding, “We hope you enjoy and savor various brands at Gwangju Shinsegae.”
