The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 26th that there are currently about 5,000 physician assistant (PA) nurses active, including 4,065 affiliated with tertiary general hospitals, and that an additional 1,900 will be added in the future, with 1,599 at tertiary general hospitals and 320 at public medical institutions. The scale is expected to increase further once the survey targeting 332 general hospitals is completed by the end of this month.
