'Gyeonggi Provincial Government Spring Flower Festival' Attracting 200,000 Visitors Held April 5-7... Organized by Gyeonggi Tourism Organization
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will hold the 38th annual Gyeonggi-do representative cultural festival, the ‘Spring Flower Festival,’ from April 5 to 7 at the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office area in Paldal-gu, Suwon City. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government Spring Flower Festival is one of Gyeonggi-do’s representative festivals, attracting more than 200,000 visitors each year, and is usually held to coincide with the cherry blossom blooming season.
This year, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will take charge of the event and plans to add a wider variety of content, attractions, and activities centered around tourism and travel themes.
During the festival, from 12 PM to 6 PM daily, various performances such as band concerts, fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), musicals, and magic shows will be held on the main stage and the auxiliary stage at the old government office.
Additionally, the nighttime illuminated cherry blossom walking path will be open until 10 PM, and a ‘Visible Radio’ program will be operated to engage and entertain visitors. A professional DJ will host live broadcasts introducing residents’ stories, promotional times for participation booths, and real-time delivery of various voices from the site. Surprise events such as birthday celebrations and proposals will also be held through on-site applications by visitors.
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will also collect stories titled ‘Memories of the Provincial Government Cherry Blossoms’ to reminisce about the cherry blossom festival at the provincial government office. Along with this, a variety of experiential events will be prepared, including public service promotion and experience booths, sales and exhibition booths for social enterprises and self-support enterprises, a carbon-neutral recycling playground, and a fire safety experience center.
