Gwangyang Steelworks, which took the lead in creating a family-friendly corporate culture by introducing a biweekly 4-day work system starting in January, the first in the domestic steel industry, is conducting a 1-night 2-day glamping event for employees with elementary school children in two sessions until the end of this month, targeting a total of 143 people, to provide multifaceted support beyond just the work system.
The first session was held from the 22nd for 1 night and 2 days on Bito Island, where the ecology of the mudflats, a natural ecological tourist attraction, is excellently preserved and where the legend of "Byeoljubu-jeon," featuring a rabbit, a turtle, and the Dragon King, is rooted. The second session is also scheduled to be held at the same location.
Participants enjoyed programs prepared by Gwangyang Steelworks such as △recreation with dad △BBQ party △mudflat experience △campfire △animation movie viewing △pop art one-day class together with their children, creating precious memories step by step.
In particular, employees showed high enthusiasm for the recreation and campfire prepared to help parents and children build bonds through play.
Employees spent time naturally understanding their children's perceptions through bingo made by writing words that come to mind when thinking of dad, and children played games where they flew balloons blown by their dads far away and wrote rolling papers praising their dads, sharing emotional communication together.
One employee who participated in the glamping said, "When working at the company, there are many cases where time spent with children is insufficient, but through this opportunity, I think I was able to build memories that I can share with my child for a lifetime," adding, "It feels like both my child and I become happy by sharing warm communication."
