Ulleung-gun, University, and Companies Sign Agreement for 'Global Green Island Project'
Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Nam Han-kwon) signed a business agreement on the 25th at Handong University Creative Library with Gyeongbuk Province, Handong University, Ulleung High School, and representatives from seven companies to promote the effective implementation of the K-U City project and active mutual cooperation for the ‘Ulleung-gun Global Green Island Project.’

It is a project promoted by local governments in cooperation with universities, high schools, and companies to create an environment where local youth can graduate from regional universities, find employment in local companies, and settle in the region.
The signing ceremony was attended by Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, Handong University, Ulleung High School, Nanyang Technological University’s Conversion Economy Research Center, Hydra Energy, Regenerate Technology, Manduka, Deulsum Nalsum Cultural Center, United Nations Academic Impact, and the Pohang Geological Resources Demonstration Research Center of the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources.

Through the agreement, companies will actively cooperate to promote the hiring of local talent in the global green sector; universities will support the cultivation of regionally specialized talent needed for the local community and the global green industry; high schools will operate field training, joint education, and customized education programs linked with universities; and local governments will provide administrative and financial support to establish educational infrastructure and improve settlement conditions.
