Uiryeong-gun, Recruiting Participants for 'Living in the Countryside' Program
Urban Residents Hoping for Return to Farming and Rural Living... Experiencing Rural Residence and 'Job' Life
Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting participants for the ‘2024 Living in Rural Areas’ program.
‘Living in Rural Areas’ is a project designed to encourage stable settlement by providing urban residents who wish to return to farming or rural living with opportunities to reside in rural areas, experience jobs and daily life, and interact with local residents.
Applicants can apply through the rural return portal site ‘Greendaero’ by April 6, and the final selection will be made through consultation with the operators of the recreational villages. Nine participants (households) will be recruited, and the target participants are urban residents aged 18 or older living in dong (neighborhood) areas. However, urban residents from adjacent areas are excluded.
The villages operating the 2024 Uiryeong-gun Living in Rural Areas program are ‘Hanwoosan-ae Cheonhajangsa Village’ in Daeui-myeon and ‘Cheongmirae Village’ in Uiryeong-eup for the 1st term (April to July), and ‘Deoksil Gambit Village’ in Uiryeong-eup for the 3rd term (September to November).

For three months, participants will be provided with experiences not only in farming but also in local jobs, resident interaction, and regional exploration, helping them successfully settle in farming and rural living.
