Junggyeonryeon Designated as 'Unfair Trade Practice Reporting Center'
Strengthening Support to Resolve Unfair Trade Difficulties for Mid-sized Companies
The Korea Federation of Medium-Sized Enterprises (KFME) is stepping up to support the resolution of unfair trade difficulties to secure the global competitiveness of medium-sized enterprises. On the 22nd, KFME announced that it has been designated as the ‘Unfair Trade Practices Reporting Center’ operated by the Trade Commission of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The Reporting Center was launched in 2007 under the ‘Act on the Investigation of Unfair Trade Practices and Relief of Industrial Damage’ to effectively monitor and detect unfair trade practices in the industrial field. Major industry-specific associations and organizations, such as the Trade-Related Intellectual Property Protection Association, have been designated and are operating as reporting centers.

Lee Ho-jun, the full-time vice chairman of KFME, said, “As seen in cases such as dumping damages from Egyptian white cement and seamless copper pipes from China and Vietnam, the risk of unfair trade damages to medium-sized enterprises actively pioneering overseas markets is increasing.” He added, “In particular, under the dual situation where Korea is both a complainant and a respondent in anti-dumping cases, we will closely cooperate with the Trade Commission of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to resolve unfair trade difficulties faced by medium-sized enterprises, which account for 18% of Korea’s total exports.”
