HDC Hyundai Development Company to Sequentially Advance Urban Development Projects
HDC Hyundai Development Company will focus on large-scale urban development projects this year to expand its urban platform. It will commence the H1 project developing the Gwangwoon University Station area and sequentially proceed with large projects such as the development of the Yongsan Railroad Hospital site and the Gongneung Station area.
One of this year's major projects is the H1 project for developing the Gwangwoon University Station area. It is a complex development project worth 4.5 trillion KRW, developing approximately 150,000㎡ of railway facility land around Gwangwoon University Station in Wolgye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul. After completing the district unit plan in the second half of last year, it will go through approval procedures such as building permits and project plan approvals and commence construction within the year.
Focusing HDC Group's capabilities on residential, office sales, and culture, a complex cultural space including shopping malls and hotels, future-oriented offices, and residential complexes will be created. Libraries, cultural and sports centers will also be established, and public land will include facilities where university students and young people can interact. The pedestrian overpass at Gwangwoon University Station, which was the only connection linking the city divided by nearby railway facilities, will be remodeled, and two new pedestrian overpasses will be constructed at the back gate of Gwangwoon University and along Seokgye-ro.
The Yongsan Railroad Hospital site development project involves developing a 10,948㎡ site at 65-154 Hangangno 3-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The main building of Yongsan Railroad Hospital, built in 1928, was remodeled into the Yongsan History Museum and returned to the citizens in 2022. HDC Hyundai Development Company will transform the Yongsan Railroad Hospital site into a core hub of Yongsan through surrounding site development. A residential complex with 685 units ranging from six basement floors to a maximum of 34 floors above ground will be constructed. Starting with Yongsan I'Park Mall, the front plaza of Yongsan Station will also be developed.
