Naju-si Implements Extension of Village Bus Routes in Donggang, Gongsan, Wanggok, and Bannam

Naju City in Jeollanam-do has implemented a bus route reorganization that provides direct bus service from village-level areas to Naju and Yeongsanpo without transfers.

According to the city on the 21st, the village buses that previously operated in the Donggang, Gongsan, Wanggok, and Bannam-myeon areas have extended their routes since the 18th to run directly to Naju and Yeongsanpo without requiring transfers.

On the 17th, Yoon Byung-tae, Mayor of Naju City, visited Donggang-myeon a day before the extension of the village bus route took effect to inspect the revised bus timetable and bus stop facilities.

With the route extension, the existing bus numbers (11 to 15) have also been completely changed.

Route 100 operates as ‘Naju-Yeongsanpo-Wanggok-Gongsan-Donggang-Bongchu’, 101 as ‘Naju-Yeongsanpo-Bannam-Gongsan’, 111 as ‘Naju-Yeongsanpo-Wanggok-Gongsan-Donggang-Wunsan-ri-Daegak-ri’, 112 as ‘Naju-Yeongsanpo-Wanggok-Gongsan-Donggang-Gokcheon-ri-Daejeon-ri’, 113 as ‘Naju-Yeongsanpo-Gongsan-Jungpo-ri-Gasong-ri-Gongsan’, 114 as ‘Naju-Yeongsanpo-Wanggok’, and 115 as ‘Naju-Yeongsanpo-Wanggok-Bannam’.

Details such as routes and timetables can be found on the city hall website (Information by Category - Transportation/Automobiles - City Bus Route Reorganization), or at the Eup, Myeon, Dong administrative welfare centers, and Naju and Yeongsanpo bus terminals.

Mayor Yoon Byung-tae recently visited the Donggang-myeon bus stops, village senior centers, and Naju and Yeongsanpo bus terminals consecutively to inspect the updated bus timetables and bus stop facilities, ordering multifaceted promotions to ensure no inconvenience to passengers.

The city plans to extend and reorganize bus routes in the Dasi, Munpyeong, Seji, and Bonghwang-myeon areas next month.

Additionally, regardless of this route reorganization, Naju Transportation plans to quickly implement improvement measures such as increasing the number of buses for routes 160 and 999, which have been reduced from 28 to 10 buses, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Mayor Yoon Byung-tae stated, “Starting with the extension of village bus routes in the Donggang, Gongsan, Wanggok, and Bannam areas, we will do our best to resolve passenger inconveniences and improve public transportation services. We will thoroughly manage and promote the timetable and ensure that operators adhere to schedules to prevent any inconvenience during commuting and school travel.”
