Anseong-si Installs 159 New Security CCTV Cameras This Year
Focus on Crime-Prone Areas Such as Residential Zones and Walking Trails
On the 21st, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will promote the '2024 Installation Project of Crime Prevention CCTV' to create a safe living environment for its citizens.
To this end, the city plans to invest 1.1 billion KRW secured this year to complete the installation of 159 CCTVs at 38 locations by the first half of the year.
The city explained that the CCTV installation sites were selected through crime occurrence data analysis and cooperation with the Anseong Police Station. In particular, the installations will focus on crime-vulnerable areas such as residential areas and walking trails.
Currently, Anseong City operates 4,179 crime prevention CCTVs at 1,474 locations within the city. Additionally, a total of 24 personnel, including monitoring staff, police officers, and public officials, work in shifts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at the Integrated Control Center.

Jang Byeong-muk, head of the Citizen Safety Division of Anseong City, said, "We will strive to secure the budget to expand CCTV installations in crime-vulnerable areas so that citizens can live safely."
