Jeongeup-si to Accept Forestry Direct Payment Applications from Next Month... Contributing to Income Stability for Forestry Workers

Jeongeup-si, Jeonbuk Province, will accept applications for the Forestry and Forest Public Direct Payment from the 1st to the 30th of next month to contribute to income stability for forestry workers and to promote the public value of the forest industry.

According to the city on the 21st, the forestry direct payment system, now in its third year since implementation, supports forestry workers and agricultural corporations engaged in forest product production and afforestation on forest land registered as forestry management entities from April 1, 2019, to September 30, 2022.

For forest product production, forestry workers must cultivate at least 0.1 hectares, and agricultural corporations at least 5 hectares; for afforestation direct payments, forestry workers must cultivate 3 hectares, and agricultural corporations at least 10 hectares to be eligible to apply.

To apply, after confirming eligibility and requirements, applicants must submit a registration application form and documents proving eligibility in person at the township, town, or neighborhood office where the forest land is located, or apply through the Forestry-in integrated portal.

Especially this year, there are changes such as the number of farming days, improvements to management logs, and expanded operation of mandatory education sites, so it is recommended to check detailed information through announcements on the Korea Forest Service or city hall websites.

A city official stated, “We will send guidance text messages and distribute leaflets to ensure forestry workers can apply within the deadline, promoting the program so that more forestry workers and agricultural corporations can benefit.”
