The outlet stated that the princess visited a store near their residence, Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, with Prince William. At the time, the princess was walking alongside Prince William wearing a black hoodie and leggings. Although her face appeared thinner than usual, she looked healthy, dispelling rumors of serious illness. Prince William was dressed comfortably in a beige baseball cap, black jacket, and jeans. The two were seen chatting and smiling brightly.
Nelson Silva (40), who filmed the video, said he spotted the royal couple at the bread section while shopping in the store. He immediately recognized them as they were selecting bread. Silva recorded the video as they were leaving the store. He said, "I wanted to show how ordinary their daily life is," adding, "The princess looked happy and relaxed." Another witness said, "It’s exactly what I saw," and added, "She’s just a woman shopping with her husband on a Saturday afternoon like any other couple, and I’m glad to see her enjoying life healthily again."
The media reported that the princess is currently recovering from abdominal surgery and has been medically advised to take leave from work until next month. The date for her return to official duties has not yet been decided. The royal family stated that only important updates will be provided while she recovers.
Earlier, the royal family announced that the princess would undergo abdominal surgery scheduled for January 17 and be hospitalized for about two weeks, stating she would not return to official duties until Easter (March 31). After giving birth, the princess had appeared publicly soon after, but her absence following surgery sparked various conspiracy theories, including rumors of serious illness. The British Army fueled speculation by posting, then deleting, that the princess would attend the military division ceremony in early June. Because of this, on the 10th, the couple’s official X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts released a photo showing the princess smiling with their three children as a "status update," but the photo manipulation controversy that followed led major foreign media to retract the photo, escalating the controversy.
Meanwhile, King Charles III, who had been rumored to have passed away mainly on Russian internet channels and social media, invited Korean War veterans to Buckingham Palace on the 19th and met with some of them. King Charles III has been refraining from public appearances during cancer treatment, sending his sister Princess Anne to the main event, but he was shown smiling and conversing with four veterans.
