Korail Gwangju Operates Mobile Ticket Inspection Team for "Fair Train Use"
Korail Gwangju Headquarters announced on the 19th that since the 14th, it has formed a dedicated ticket inspection team to establish a proper train usage culture and has been conducting crackdowns on fare evasion on all trains.
The mobile inspection team plans to focus on cracking down on major types of fare evasion, such as short-distance free rides and unauthorized use of commuter passes, on KTX, Saemaeul, Mugunghwa, and other trains operating during peak commuting hours until the end of the year.
If a passenger uses the train without paying the proper fare, the railway operator may charge an additional fare up to 30 times the fare corresponding to the boarding section.
