Kim Jong-min, Standing Election Committee Chairman, Proposes Introduction of Runoff Voting System
Saeroun Mirae announced on the 19th that it proposes the launch of the 7th Republic system, which abolishes the imperial presidential system, as a pledge for the general election.
Kim Jong-min, the Standing Election Committee Chairman of Saeroun Mirae, held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office on the same day and said, "To abolish the imperial presidential system, a presidential runoff voting system must be introduced," adding, "Through the runoff voting system, a president who unites the people should be created."
Along with this, he proposed the introduction of a National Assembly recommendation system for the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers. He stated, "The Prime Minister and four Deputy Prime Ministers should form a Prime Minister Committee to assist the president," and argued, "We need to shift from a 'Secretariat government' to a 'Prime Minister Committee government'." He explained that the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers would perform practical personnel committee functions such as re-requesting personnel rights to the president within the Prime Minister Committee, and that the functions of the Board of Audit and Inspection should also be transferred to the National Assembly.
