The Transportation Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council (Chairman Park Jung-hwa, People Power Party, Seongdong 1) received the 2024 Transportation Culture Quality Improvement and Development Merit Award in the council category at the '2024 People Who Shined Korea' event held on the 14th at the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall Convention Hall.
This awards ceremony was hosted by 20 organizations, selecting individuals who have been recommended for their strong sense of duty in various fields such as politics, economy, and culture, contributing to national development and serving as role models, through a rigorous evaluation process.
Chairman Park Jung-hwa, as the Chair of the Transportation Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, has worked not only to enhance the traffic safety and welfare of Seoul citizens but also to focus on the future transportation system of Seoul. He has monitored and checked Seoul’s transportation policies, proposed alternatives, and strived to make Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea, a transportation advanced city with international competitiveness. His contributions have been recognized with this award.
In particular, Chairman Park has actively engaged in legislative activities such as holding forums to address the causes and countermeasures of sudden unintended acceleration accidents in automobiles and pioneering the enactment of the Seoul Metropolitan City Ordinance on Prevention and Support for Sudden Unintended Acceleration Accidents in Automobiles, the first of its kind nationwide.
