Busan City, Customized Job Creation ... Promotion of Local Employment Projects
Secured 4.5 Billion KRW for 'Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project,' Total 5.7 Billion KRW Including National and City Funds
Busan City has secured a total of 4.5 billion KRW in national funding after all its applications were selected in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project' competition.
The 'Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project' is a program where local governments proactively discover job projects tailored to regional and industrial conditions, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor supports the project implementation through a review process.
This year, the city was selected for the 'Regional Plus Job Project' and the 'Regional Innovation Project' among the project application types, and through these, it will promote a comprehensive job project worth a total of 5.7 billion KRW in national and city funds, officially launching 'Busan-customized' job creation.
The 'Regional Plus Job Project' is designed to alleviate the recruitment difficulties faced by the region's key industries by preferentially supporting target industries in connection with central government projects.
The 'Regional Innovation Project' supports customized job creation linked to industrial structure advancement in response to structural changes in regionally specialized industries.
Through the 'Regional Plus Job Project,' the city will provide hiring, employment promotion, and retention incentives to recruiting companies and new employees in the shipbuilding equipment industry and the tourism MICE industry.
▲ New Hope Savings for the Shipbuilding Equipment Industry (supporting asset formation of 6 million KRW after one year of continuous employment for job seekers) ▲ Job Leap Incentive for the Shipbuilding Equipment Industry (up to 12 million KRW per new hire for companies) ▲ Job Filling Support Fund for the Tourism MICE Industry (3 million KRW support after one year of continuous employment for job seekers) ▲ Job Leap Incentive for the Tourism MICE Industry (up to 12 million KRW per new hire for companies) will be implemented.
From the 18th, companies and participants in the shipbuilding equipment and tourism MICE plus job projects will be recruited through the executing agency’s website.
Detailed information can be found in the project-specific announcements posted on each website.
Additionally, unlike last year, the target industries for support have been expanded from the shipbuilding equipment and tourism MICE industries to include the root industry. For the newly supported root industry, additional retention incentives will be provided to participants of existing Ministry of Employment and Labor support projects.
Recruitment for participants in the root industry plus job project is scheduled to take place separately in early April.
The root industry refers to businesses that operate using foundational process technologies applied across manufacturing or manufacture equipment used in such processes, as defined by Article 3 of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Promotion and Advancement of the Root Industry.
Next, the city will promote the 'Regional Innovation Project' targeting high-potential new growth industries such as tourism MICE, blue food tech, and hydrogen energy, which are core sectors of Busan's service industry.
Companies in tourism MICE seeking industrial innovation through digital transformation, marine bio, blue food tech industries, and hydrogen energy-related companies will receive up to 19.5 million KRW in commercialization funds per company upon new hiring.
Specialized employment services for targeted industries such as tourism MICE will also be provided through the Dongbusan Job Center located at BEXCO.
Blue food tech refers to seafood that goes beyond the simple concept of food to include sustainable food production, marine ecosystem conservation, and sources of nutrition beneficial to health.
Recruitment of participating companies is planned to begin as early as next month, and inquiries about detailed schedules and overall projects can be made through the representative contact numbers of each executing agency.
