[Breaking] Residents Who Submitted Resignation Letters Cannot Open Medical Institutions or Hold Concurrent Positions... Suspicions of Concurrent Employment Among About 10 People
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 15th that it has currently issued a 'Medical Service Maintenance Order' to all residents, and even residents who have already submitted their resignation letters are obligated to maintain their medical duties.
Regarding resignation, it explained, "Since the resident training contract is a fixed-term contract, resident resignation may be restricted according to the contractual relationship."
It added, "Residents are not allowed to open medical institutions according to the specialist training regulations, nor work at or hold concurrent positions in medical institutions other than their training hospitals," and reported, "Currently, cases have been identified where fewer than 10 residents have been registered as overlapping personnel at other medical institutions."

Additionally, if prescriptions or medical records are prepared under another person's name, not only will they be punished under the Medical Service Act, but the private practitioners who employ the residents may also be punished under criminal law."
