Incheon City to Provide 100 Million Won Until Age 18 for Children Born... Transportation Expenses Support for Pregnant Women Starting April
50 Million KRW Support for Pregnant Women Living in Incheon for Over 6 Months
Cheonsa Support Fund and Aikkum Allowance Scheduled for Implementation in First Half of This Year
Incheon City will provide 500,000 KRW in transportation expenses to pregnant women starting from the 1st of next month.
On the 14th, the city announced that as part of the '1 Billion Plus i Dream' policy, which supports children born in Incheon with a total of 100 million KRW until they turn 18, it will first support transportation expenses for pregnant women.
Pregnant women as of January 1st of this year, including those who gave birth in January, are eligible for support. For the month of April, pregnant women who have lived in Incheon for more than six months as of the application date and who gave birth between January and March this year or are expected to give birth in April are eligible to apply. From May onwards, pregnant women who are at least 12 weeks pregnant and women within one month after childbirth can also apply.
Eligible pregnant women will receive 500,000 KRW in Incheon e-eum points (local currency), which can be used for taxi fares or private vehicle fuel costs, valid for one year. Incheon City expects about 27,500 pregnant women to benefit from this transportation expense support.
Applications can be made online from April 1st through the Government24 (Bojo-geum24) website or by visiting the administrative welfare center of the jurisdiction where the applicant resides.
Meanwhile, the 1 Billion Plus i Dream project provides a total of 100 million KRW by adding 28 million KRW from Incheon City's own budget for fetal support funds, i Dream child allowance, and transportation expenses for pregnant women, in addition to the existing 72 million KRW support from the government and local governments.
The fetal support funds and i Dream child allowance are being promoted with the goal of implementation in the first half of this year. The fetal support funds, which provide 100,000 KRW monthly for children aged 1 to 7 years, totaling 8.4 million KRW, completed consultations with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and social security system on the 12th and are scheduled to be paid starting in June.
The i Dream child allowance, which supports 150,000 KRW monthly from ages 8 to 18 when the child allowance ends, totaling 19.8 million KRW, is currently under consultation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, aiming for support within the first half of this year.
