Initially, the son, Son Seulgiro, enrolled in the Department of Japanese Language. After seeing her son attending university, the mother, Park Youngsook, was attracted to university life and enrolled in the Department of Health Administration as a class of 2021 student and is currently in her fourth year. Then, in February, the father, Son Hyunho, who had worked as a Korean language teacher at a high school in Busan and recently retired, transferred to the Department of Japanese Language Education with the encouragement of his son and wife. Thus, the entire family became alumni attending the same university.
Park Youngsook said, "Spending time among students of a similar age to my son helped me understand the MZ generation better, and I feel I have more support and encouragement for my son." She added, "I hope parents in their 20s who have a passion for learning will challenge themselves to enter university and take the opportunity to better understand their 20-something children while studying."
