21-Year-Old Korean University Student Interested in Fashion and Design Attacked Without Provocation in Paris
Korean in Paris Assaulted and Unconscious
"Attacks Continued Even After Son Collapsed"
A Korean-American college student studying design in the United States was brutally assaulted by an assailant while traveling in Paris, France, and fell into an unconscious state. Recently, the Seattle local media outlet 'KIRO7' reported that Justin Han (21), who resides in Arizona, was indiscriminately attacked by assailants while traveling in Paris on the 23rd of last month.
Han's mother, Mimi Yang, said, "My son hit his head on the ground. But even after he collapsed, the perpetrators continued to attack and beat him." Before learning this fact, Yang had been waiting for her son's contact for three days. She said, "My son usually kept in touch well, so I was very worried when I couldn't reach him. Then I received a call from the U.S. Embassy saying that my son was in a coma and in the intensive care unit."
Yang said she was shocked to see her son wrapped in bandages and hooked up to tubes here and there. She said, "There is nothing worse than seeing my son in that condition."

Han, who was interested in fashion and design, had long dreamed of going to Paris, the global center of fashion. It is reported that he visited Paris alone on vacation and was subjected to this random attack.
Han's relative, Cat Kim, opened a GoFundMe page to raise funds for Han's medical expenses. The fundraising goal is $50,000 (approximately 65.8 million KRW), and as of the morning of the 14th, $30,530 (approximately 40.2 million KRW) had been raised. Kim expressed gratitude, saying, "One donor said something beautiful. The donor said, 'Although a stranger committed a terrible act, there are many more strangers gathered here to help Han.'"
