SK Telecom's international calling service 00700 announced on the 14th the 'Top 20 Japanese Restaurants Frequently Visited by Koreans,' analyzing the dining establishments with the most call attempts based on approximately 1 million pieces of Japanese international call big data accumulated last year.
According to 00700, the number one local restaurant in Japan last year was 'Sukiyaki Ibuki,' a sukiyaki specialty restaurant in Tokyo. Following that, second place was 'Kukizen,' a sushi restaurant in Sapporo, and third to fifth places were the izakaya 'Sumigekijo Musashiza,' the sushi restaurant 'Yamanaka,' and the eel cuisine restaurant 'Yoshizuka Unagiya,' all located in Fukuoka.
By region, Fukuoka, which is close to both the airport and downtown and advantageous for short trips, accounted for 9 out of the total 20 places. Sapporo, popular as a winter travel destination, ranked second with 6 places, followed by Tokyo, favored by young family travelers visiting theme parks, with 4 places.
