Enchem Participates in Korea's Largest Battery Exhibition 'InterBattery'
Enchem, a specialist company in secondary battery electrolytes, announced on the 14th that it successfully concluded its participation in 'InterBattery 2024,' the largest domestic battery exhibition held at COEX, Seoul, from the 6th to the 8th of this month.
At this exhibition, Enchem showcased its global growth roadmap, vision, and core technologies to the general public, K-battery companies, and key industry stakeholders.
According to the global growth strategy announced by Enchem at InterBattery 2024, the company plans to expand its global electrolyte production capacity (CAPA) from 420,000 tons last year to 800,000 tons this year. Regardless of market conditions, Enchem will continue investing steadily to maintain its 'super-gap' strategy and aims to become the global number one company within the next five years.
To achieve this, Enchem has designated four key hubs in Korea, North America, China, and Europe and is building its own global supply chain.
To maximize competitiveness in the North American and European markets, Enchem is constructing a lithium salt (LiPF6) production plant, a core raw material for electrolytes, in Saemangeum, scheduled for completion next year. Lithium salt is one of the essential materials that make up electrolytes.
Additionally, at this event, Enchem presented information on its ongoing waste NMP (solvent for cathode binder) recycling project at its Georgia plant in the United States, as well as new business areas such as additive development and CNT (carbon nanotubes).
