20,000 Won Lego Piece Sold for 23 Million Won... Turns Out It's a Limited Edition of Only 30 Worldwide
Revealed as a Limited Edition with Only 30 Units Released Worldwide
An old Lego piece donated to a Goodwill store (a nonprofit organization that sells items donated by local residents and creates jobs for people with disabilities) in the United States was later revealed to be a 14K gold piece. Originally priced at $15 (about 20,000 KRW), this toy was sold for a whopping $18,000 (about 23 million KRW). Local media, including CBS News, recently highlighted a 'Bionicle' toy auctioned at a Goodwill store located in Pennsylvania. Bionicle is a construction toy similar to Lego.

The Goodwill store initially priced the Bionicle toy containing this mask at just $15. However, collectors flocked to the toy, causing its value to soar. One collector even privately offered $1,000 to buy the toy. Afterwards, Smith investigated the Bionicle toy and found out that it was a rare limited edition product, with only 30 units ever made.

Moreover, the brightly shining Lego piece was a gold mask made of genuine 14K gold. Out of the total 30 products, 25 had already found owners, leaving only 5 remaining. One of these had accidentally ended up as a donation to the Goodwill store.
Eventually, the Goodwill store removed the toy from their online store and decided to auction it. The final winning bid for the toy reached $18,100 after the auction ended.
