Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Launches 'Support System for Small and Medium Export Enterprises'
Enhancing Competitiveness of 'Small and Medium Enterprises' Through Export Company Support Programs
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced that it will establish a support system to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized export enterprises.
The support system for small and medium-sized export enterprises is a program that provides partial support for export container logistics costs for small and medium-sized enterprises exporting through Gwangyang Port, and is currently considering providing support ranging from a maximum of 5 million to 10 million KRW per company.
The establishment of the support system aims to provide practical assistance in strengthening the logistics competitiveness and expanding overseas sales channels of small and medium-sized export enterprises at Gwangyang Port, even amid challenging domestic and international business environments, and will be concretized through research services to enhance objectivity.
The Authority plans to develop customized support measures for small and medium-sized export enterprises to pioneer export routes by comprehensively collecting opinions from small and medium-sized enterprises and reviewing cases from other institutions in preparation for the support system.
President Park Seong-hyun said, “Our Authority is the only public institution headquartered in the eastern region of Jeollanam-do, and through the establishment of a ‘small and medium-sized enterprise export support’ system, we will lead the public function as the number one import-export port in Korea.”
