Bernard Arnault, chairman of the French luxury group Louis Vuitton Mo?t Hennessy (LVMH), has overtaken Jeff Bezos, chairman of Amazon, to become the 'world's richest person.' This change occurred just three days after Bezos had claimed the top spot.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index on the 10th (local time), Arnault surpassed Bezos as the world's richest person as of the 7th.
Arnault's net worth is $201 billion (approximately 265.32 trillion KRW), exceeding Bezos's $198 billion (approximately 261.36 trillion KRW).
This is the first time Arnault has held the number one position since he relinquished it to CEO Elon Musk in late May last year, about nine months ago.
Bezos had overtaken Tesla CEO Elon Musk on the 4th to become the world's richest person for the first time since 2021, but he gave up the position to Arnault after just three days.
With recent stock price fluctuations, these billionaires have been swapping the top spot back and forth.
Tesla's stock price fell 30% from $248 at the end of last year to $175 on the 7th. As of the 7th, Musk's net worth was $189 billion (approximately 249.48 trillion KRW), placing him third behind Arnault and Bezos. Since the end of last year, Amazon's stock price rose about 15% from $151 to $175, and LVMH's from $733 to $844.
