Descente Golf is strengthening its golf shoe business.
On the 6th, a showcase titled "The Hottest Golf Shoes Right Now" was held at the QED Golf Academy located in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. The event aimed to reinforce recognition as a performance golf brand and explained the growth of golf shoes as a core business segment of the brand. In particular, the Descente Shoe Research Center (DISC), which has played a pivotal role in the development of golf shoes, was introduced. Major golf shoe lineups were also exhibited, providing attendees the opportunity to try them on freely.
The three flagship golf shoes representing the brand?R90, Condor, and Pro Classic?were displayed along with their development processes. Players active on the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour, including Ham Jung-woo, Lee Jae-kyung, and Jung Chan-min, who wear Descente golf shoes, graced the event.
The birthplace of Descente Golf shoes is DISC. Established in 2018 in Busan, it is the largest shoe R&D center in Asia. It is where all technology development, analysis, and testing necessary for golf shoes?such as grip, comfort, and stability?are conducted. To date, a database of approximately 2,200 Korean foot shape data has been secured, and based on this, various core technologies and lasts have been developed through research and testing. Twenty-three researchers are dedicated to this effort.

Descente Golf first launched the R90 in 2021 with the concept of golf shoes tailored to Korean feet. Last year, the Condor was introduced, featuring a carbon plate inserted in the middle of the midsole, and this year, the brand unveiled the Pro Classic, its first classic dress shoe design. Currently, the total number of golf shoe models held is 11. Golf shoes account for about 30% of Descente Golf's sales. Descente Golf is actively sponsoring players and strengthening marketing to expand consumer touchpoints. The company plans to further increase brand recognition in the golf shoe industry.
