Boseong 'Artist's Day' Event Successfully Concluded
A Festival of Unity for Local Artists, True to the Spirit of the City of Art
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 5th, it held the ‘2024 1st Boseong Artists' Day’ event for the harmony and communication of artists in the Boseong area, hosted by the Boseong branch of the Korea Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations (Chairperson Seo Jeong-mi) and sponsored by Boseong-gun, at the forest education center of Jaeamsan Natural Recreation Forest.
The ‘2024 1st Boseong Artists' Day’ event, held for the first time this year, was prepared to instill pride in artists dedicated to local artistic creative activities and to promote the development of culture and arts in Boseong.
On this day, about 200 members from three branches under the Boseong branch of the Korea Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations (writers, visual arts, performing artists) and nine special groups (Purumi Art Troupe, Boseong Sori Madang, Boseong Sori Preservation Society, Boseong Sori Changgeuk Troupe, Boseong Arirang Art Troupe, Gugak Art Troupe Ipsori, Buk Sori Art Troupe, Gugak Ensemble Hwawoon, Jun Art) participated together.
Starting with a rich pre-event performance, various performances celebrating the activities of artists, such as poetry recitations, fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), and master singer performances, were held.
In addition, awards were presented to local artists who have contributed to the development of culture and arts, including Park Chun-maeng, artistic director of the Boseong County Gugak Orchestra, Kim Yong-guk, advisor of the Korea Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations Boseong branch, and Han Mi-sook, deputy head of the Boseong branch of the Fine Arts Association.
Seo Jeong-mi, chairperson of the Korea Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations Boseong branch, said, “Thank you to many artists who attended the first Boseong Artists' Day event held this year,” and added, “We will continue to strive to promote culture and arts in Boseong.”
Kim Cheol-woo, governor of Boseong-gun, said, “As Boseong is a hometown of artistic fragrance, I appreciate the efforts of artists who work hard to expand the base of local culture and arts.”
Meanwhile, the rice received instead of wreaths at the event was donated to welfare centers for those in need within the district.
